Well, I really loved the piano lessons, both the lessons Illya received as a child (his teacher seemed very real; perhaps she's based on a real person? ;)) and the lessons he gave Napoleon (so sweet and funny). You've obviously got a passing acquaintance with the subject matter. Also, I thought it was clever the way you worked in the fact that Illya is canonically fond of jazz and that the Soviet Union frowned on non-classical music.
But I was frustrated by Illya's inability to concentrate on the mission; it just doesn't seem in character. Also, and this is a very superficial point, it seemed like you were misspelling Illya's patronymic.
Overall, however, it was a very enjoyable fic, so thanks very much for writing and sharing. (I laughed for the food sections and the shower scene!)

I pimped this to a friend today - and so I read it again. And it's still glorious, and textured and bittersweet and painful and triumphant. Can't begin to thank you for sharing your work here. It's SUCH a treat. :o)
