I hope this comment isn't irrelevant, but you write a remarkable regretful hangover. I recognise that behaviour, I'm sorry to say, having been guilty of, um, accosting a former partner when in a blackout. Thankfully, as I am female and quite small, I've never done any real damage to anyone, but you've gotten the appalling sense of guilt perfectly. I like a bit of angst now and again.
